If your song is good, and by good, I mean that you have a catchy chorus and verse, the basic song arrangement and rhythm tracks are of the utmost importance. The arrangement must be done in a way that best compliments the song. The groove should inspire the performer, and the key and tempo must be comfortable. When you hire a producer, for the most part, they will hand you a finished track that you are stuck with. If you're not pleased, oh well, good luck next time.
