Lead sheet transcription for singer-songwriters for $40
Are you a singer-songwriter who sings and plays by ear? If so, it's quite possible you don't know how to write musical notation. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that! However, having a written record of your music can be really useful in various circumstances:
- You are rehearsing for a gig with musicians who don't know your repertoire, or...
- You are planning to hire session musicians to record your music. In both these cases you will save a lot of time, and hence a lot of money, if you are able to hand them a leadsheet rather than requiring them to learn the song by ear in the studio.
- Protecting your work: if you have written a new song that you haven't yet recorded, you can register the leadsheet with your PRO.
To be clear, a leadsheet contains all the essential information about your song - lyrics, melody, chord changes, structure, any particular riffs, etc.. It's not a full score - e.g. if you want to add a full string section you will have to prepare sheet music for those musicians separately - but it contains enough information for your rhythm section and any solo instruments to play it immediately, without ever having heard it before.
I work in Finale (notation software). I will provide you a leadsheet as a pdf, as MusicXML, and can also provide midi files if you wish.
