Alexa Grae, (they/them) is an interdisciplinary artist, vocalist, and composer. They have collaborated with Stephanie Acosta, Isaac Pool, Jessie Young, Same As Sister, and Pioneers Go East at La Mama. Grae released their studio song cycle ‘SEEN’ with the premiere of ‘Sur La Nuit’ an operatic - electronic music video (Matthew Ozawa & Jon Wes) at The Art Institute Chicago with Open Television. They have performed with Haymarket Opera Company, Madison Opera , Elements Contemporary Ballet, as well as a featured soloist/ A graduate of Northwestern University where they received a Master's degree in Vocal Performance and Literature, a Certificate in Performance, and Bachelor Degrees in Vocal Performance and Composition from Texas Tech University. They have performed with companies such as Haymarket Opera Company (Amadigi di Gaula, G.F. Handel), Madison Opera (Galileo Galilei, Philip Glass), Elements Contemporary Ballet as well as a featured soloist with Chicago Arts Orchestra, The Orchestra of New Spain, The Savannah Philharmonic, Northwestern University Orchestra, and Texas Tech University Symphony Orchestra. In 2018 ALEXA released their first studio song cycle titled ‘SEEN’ accompanied by the premiere of ‘Sur La Nuit ’ an operatic/electronic music video at OTV. The song cycle is a mix of genres spanning from classical art song, house music, R&B, to pop. They were the American Traditions Competition 2015 Gold Medal Winner. Alexa has been a voice instructor and coach for 18+ years teaching in many different genres and styles.
