Drum Set Lessons - One Hour for $50

I've been playing the drums for the past 15 years. In that time I've shared the stage with hundreds of different musicians, recorded and released music with my own and other peoples bands, been on national tours and also teach and perform drum clinics locally. I have a formal education in music, starting with private piano and drum lessons as a kid and later studying at both Grant MacEwan University and the University of North Texas.

This experience has led me to learn a lot and develop a unique perspective and understanding of the drums over time. I enjoy passing that information on to other interested people who are eager to learn.

We can either cover the fundamentals of technique, theory, reading and rudiments; or delve into more advanced technical concepts like limb independence, odd-times, double kick, polyrhythms/polymeter, permutations, tuning, etc...

If you already feel like you have a good enough grasp on theory and technique, then we can also talk about different styles. My roots are in hardcore and metal music, but I also play funk and jazz fairly regularly and have worked on a lot of jazz and afro-cuban type of styles in school. Learning new styles can be good if you feel stuck in a rut creatively, want to develop your time-feel (pocket) further, or just expand your horizons a bit more.

I have a multi-track mic setup so that you will be able to hear me and my drums clearly over Zoom or Skype, and have various lesson plan .pdf's that can be sent depending on the material. I can even write up a custom transcription or lesson sheet if you want to learn something I don't already have original material for, or recommend books for you to purchase that will be valuable for you and instruction on how to work through them.
