Learn to create music with your guitar for $25

My name is Jorge and I am a musician from Guatemala, passionate about self-discovery through music. In my life I have had diverse and nourishing experiences with it (listening at home, learning piano basics at the national conservatory, learning and playing the guitar at church, forming a rock band at school, learning guitar with private tutors, learning music theory, harmony and jazz basics at the university, singing/songwriting my own music, delivering workshops to small groups, designing a learning guide/coloring book to teach the basics of guitar).

My guitar lessons are mostly intended for beginners, although I have also a good set of skills in music theory, notation, harmony, chord forming and progressions. In my way of teaching, we go through the fundamentals of body and mind connection, such as breathing, walking and using our body to make music. The repertoire is open and I like learning new music based on what students can propose and that can be useful to learn as well.

Lessons are 60-minute long, ideally at least once per week. I also send complimentary content in the form of videos, audios or images explaining aspects of music, technique and sound to practice when you want.

I have found this way of teaching useful especially for those who wish to explore their own creativity and think outside the box when it comes to creating music. I feel it is important to establish a good relationship with the person who learns, knowing that music opens multiple possibilities and that I want to treat that energy with care, as it has been for my own learning path.
