Master Jazz Improvisation, Theory, and Soloing with Michael Palma for $75
Hi, my name is Michael Palma, and I am a Jazz (and other popular styles) pianist. I offer jazz improvisation, theory, and soloing lessons for all instruments, from beginner to expert level. My approach is designed to strengthen your understanding of harmony, chord progressions, and soloing techniques—skills that apply across all styles of popular music.
I studied on a full scholarship at Berklee College of Music, where I graduated in 2009, and later served as a faculty member at the University of North Texas, teaching jazz piano and improvisation for two years. As a performer, I’ve played professionally with legends such as Wynton Marsalis, Esperanza Spalding, Melissa Aldana, Jimmy Cobb (Kind of Blue), Ghost-Note, Robert "Sput" Seawright, MonoNeon, Roy Hargrove, Jason Palmer, George Garzone, Hal Crook, Paquito D’Rivera, Greg Osby, Mark Turner, and many more.
Lessons are conducted via Zoom or your preferred video chat platform and are individually tailored to meet your needs. Whether you're just starting or refining advanced concepts, I focus on making sure each student deeply understands and applies what they learn. I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and helping musicians elevate their playing to the next level.
You can check out my playing and soloing in various styles on this page. Looking forward to working with you!
