Reed Berin is a producer/songwriter based in Nashville, TN. After participating in magnet arts programs in middle and high school, he got his degree in jazz studies at the University of North Florida. Reed also spent time in Los Angeles in a band signed to Geffen Records. For the past decade, Reed has been touring playing bass with artists such as Clare Dunn, Cassadee Pope, Jana Kramer, and Mackenzie Porter. He has produced and written with artists GAYLE, James Droll, Marisa Maino, Charli Adams, and Jules Paymer.

I work in just about all genres. A few years ago, I was mostly producing music that leaned more R&B/hip hop/pop but I currently find myself producing more more rock oriented music.

I love receiving the stems of a demo. I want to capture the original intended vibe that the artist created. I may or may not use some of the original sounds but I usually do. This is really helpful to me. Chopping up and manipulating original stems is where I find the song.

I also really appreciate reference samples of what kind of sound you are looking for. After I receive the session or stems and listen to references, I will take a day to do my first pass of production. I usually stop and make a bounce to send the client before I get really meticulous to make sue that we are on the same page when it comes to the vibe.

I work in Logic Pro. I have BAE 1073, Warm Audio WA2A, Warm Audio EQP WA, Neumann TLM 103, Warm Audio 251, Prophet 08, Moog SUB37, and UAD plugs ins. I have several Fender basses and guitars. I also have an upright bass if string textures are needed.

Once the client and I have gotten the song to a place where we are happy, I will deliver stems however they'd like.
