Hey, first of all you’ve come to the right place rest assured! But let’s get down to business, for studio platforms, I use both Logic Pro and GarageBand. For equipment I utilize my late 2021 MacBook Pro, I have a Neumann TLM 102 equipped with a shock mount and a pop filter and microphone stand of course. For mixing purposes I’ve invested In a pair of Avantone Pro MP1 Mixphones Multi-mode Reference Headphones with Vari-Voice which have the capability to turn sound enhancement on and off. Despite this I also utilize my Beats Solo3’s and AirPods as well as my Adam t10s 10 inch desktop subwoofers after mixing to get an idea of what my music will sound like on a variety of devices. For volume and vocal regulation I use the Audient Nero Desktop Monitor Controller. That is currently all of my studio equipment which is set up in a sound insulated room that I use as my lab. My writing process is might seem more complex to others but that is probably because I’m a boarder-line perfectionist. How I start my writing process is I pick out a beat/instrumental and study the loops to figure out how to frame the verses and chorus. By then I usually have a topic or vibe that Im going to incorporate into my verse so I jot down a few good bars and I spit them in different sections of the beat to see which ones fit best. Doing this allows me to get a better idea of how to position the rest of the verse(s) to get the greatest result.
