A song that really inspires the hook melody is “can’t fight the moonlight” by LeAnn Rimes.

I’m imagining a rhythmic pop song with r&b tinges, like that Y2K britney / nsync / justin timberlake era sound, but I also want it to fit in with the modern pop landscape. I wanna be able to dance to this. i want movement, I want up-tempo. I want something very hooky, anthemic and upbeat.

This song is about trying to move on and enter a new era, but past forces (whether that be an ex or dark force or wuteva) keep trying to pull me back, and dim my light. But i just wanna live and dance with my friends, and have fun with my friends. I envision this song being electronically produced, but i’m open to other forms of production. I’ve been in this “angsty pop rock” era for a while with my music, but I really want to do pop music with a lot of tempo and movement, as that’s what I listen to on the daily and really love.
