Hey, I’m Jon Limmer, the mastering engineer and Owner/Lead Engineer of The Sound Box Recording Studio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I’m all about helping artists take their music to the next level with polished, radio-ready masters that hit just right.

At The Sound Box, I’ve got the tools to make your tracks shine. My setup includes a Mac Studio running Pro Tools and Logic, paired with 3 UA Apollo x8p interfaces for pristine audio quality. I use the Dangerous D-Box for summing and monitoring, and when it’s time to add that final touch of analog warmth and clarity, I rely on the Rupert Neve Designs Portico II Master Buss Processor—a real game-changer for dynamics and tone.

I’m also loaded with some of the best plugins in the industry, like UA, Waves, Slate Digital, FabFilter, Gold Clip, God Particle, iZotope, and plenty more. Whether your track needs depth, balance, or a little extra sparkle, I’ve got the tools (and ears) to make it happen.

Outside of tweaking EQs and compressing transients, I’m passionate about creating a relaxed, creative vibe where artists feel comfortable trusting me with their hard work. For me, mastering isn’t just about making things sound good—it’s about honoring the music and making sure it connects with listeners exactly how you envisioned.
