ADAT audio tape transfer for $75
Many of us music producers have a library of projects on obsolete formats. For my library of ADAT digital audio tapes, I maintain at least one deck and a BRC remote. This gives me the ability to play the tapes, feeding the digital audio out to my computer audio interface, while locked via midi timecode (MTC). This way, I can transfer multiple tapes from a recording that was originally recorded on a multiple ADAT deck system.
I record the digital stream from the ADAT XT optical output to a Black Lion Audio upgraded Digi002 audio interface into ProTools10 (mac) and create a separate .wav file for each track. The tracks from each tape are all in sync and are16 or 24bit, 48khz digital copies with no degradation in quality.
The ADAT BRC remote midi timecode feeds the audio interface via midi cable and ProTools is put in sync mode, meaning that it locks and plays (and records) along with the ADAT tape.
I can also provide a ProTools10 .ptx file with tracks labeled and ready for you to work on. For an additional fee, I can provide mixes and stereo mix audio .wav files.
I'd like to offer this service to those who would like to get some use of their older ADAT recordings but no longer have the ADAT hardware. Ship your tapes to me with any documentation clarifying song titles, start times, song length, number of tapes, and track sheets. If you have no documentation, I can still copy entire tapes locked to their MTC. You also provide a large capacity flash drive for all the new audio .wav files. My fee is $6 per minute for each tape. A 4 minute 24 track recording would be $72, for example. (min. charge per airgigs.com is $75) I am open to a reduced fee if you have a large quantity of ADAT tapes to be copied. In addition, if you want me to provide a mix file, my fee for that would be $20/minute.
I will send your tapes back to you, along with the flash drive. However, you will arrange pre-paid return shipping.
Thank you for considering my audio services.
