MIXING

Fab Dupont recently said it best: "Mixing is the art of losing gain with style". This means every instrument in a mix of tracks that you have recorded, needs to fit in a number of different ways and this can include balance, tone, level, volume, frequency and panning. So my job as a mixer is to use the tools that I have available to get your song to sound as good as any song that you hear on the radio.

How can I do this for you and your tracks?

-Well, I have very high-end Focusrite Clarett amplifiers which have A/D and D/A converters that deliver up to 119dB real world dynamic range with 192kHz/24-bit to capture every nuance of digital conversion when mixing.

-The plugins I use as part of my processing include Waves, iZotope, Focusrite, Softube, Fab-filter, Apple, Sonnox, Echoboy and use many DAWS including Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Ableton, Reason 5 and Studio One V3 Professional.

I can do mixing for up to 96 tracks maximum and will provide 4 FREE revisions of mixes because I want the client to be as pleased with his or her mix as possible, I can also do a 30second free sample for a client because I am that confident I can transform your tracks.

MASTERING

Mastering is making music sound the best it can possibly be and is the final QC stage before digital distribution and ultimately what it will sound like to the consumer as a finished product. Making the music sound perfect as either a sing or a selection by means of things like M/S EQ, tonal adjustments and controlling dynamic range or level and improving the high-fidelity and clarity in a mix and adding the finished polished shine to a track like on a car.

How can I do this for your tracks?

-I have studied mastering for a number of years and that is the main difference for finishing a project, you need to know what you're doing by doing level matched A/B comparisons, having a good listening environment and a fresh perspective of the pieces as a whole.

- I use dedicated software that facilitates dynamic EQ's, specialised mastering limiters and also IRSC codes and metadata to complete your finished tracks as well as specialised stand-alone software needed to isolate the tracks for certain powerful processing within the DAW.
