Funk/Soul/Pop/Rock/Indie/Disco Bass though all-time signal chain. for $50

Raised on Chili Peppers, Rage Against The Machine, Jamiroquai. I've been playing over 20 years, performing with a dozen bands and recording and producing the last 5 years. Learning a lot of cover songs for a band I was in when I was young taught me a lot about the relationship between the bass and the vocal in hit songs. My approach is to support the vocal melody, put down a solid foundation, and only play as much as necessary. I write custom parts to your brief. My emphasis is on the feel, the groove of the track rather than technicality. I'm not the virtuoso guy, I'm the guy that makes the track feel good - that's how I see the bass players role.

I'll supply stems of the clean signal and coloured/compressed to your requests, and 3 revisions. I'm very open to communication as far as your goals and enjoy the process of finding that sweet spot very much.

I use a Fender P Bass as I've found that to be easier to mix and be most effective for 90% of productions, although I can access different instruments on request.

My tracking rig consists of several options:

An Anthony De Maria Labs twin channel, all tube, high voltage preamp. A favourite DI method of mine for clean is to daisy-chain the two channels together for fat warm gooey goodness.

VT Bass Deluxe DI pedal for vintage/rock/crunch/fuzz tones.

Direct signal from Eden WT550 Bass amp with matching 410 and 115 cabs which can be simultaneously miked with a variety of ribbons, condensers and industry standard dynamic mics.

Markbass CMD 151 combo with excellent direct signal, can also be miked.

Hardware compressors for tracking include high-end Optical, Fet and VCA units from Stam Audio, Lindell Audio and Klark Teknik.

Burr Brown converters through Audient interface.
