In my home studio I use Roland V-Drums, Superior Drummer with various sets, iMac and Cubase. .
This simple combination has repeatedly shown its effectiveness, which is confirmed on my Soundcloud and personal YouTube channel.
How I'm working on the drum part,
At first I'm listening to your demo, analyze your sound and construct a drum set with the sounds that, in my opinion, best match your sound.
Then I play drums with your demo, trying to create a part as close as possible to your style and manner of performance. Having created a part, I memorize it and record it from beginning to end without cuts, stops, programming, quantize and third-party midi tracks.
I usually record ten to fifteen tracks with different accents and drum fills. Then I repeatedly listen to each of them and leave two or three parts that I like the most, listen to them in a mix with your demo and, if necessary, edit the velocities of individual notes so that exactly the sample that I need is activated from the sound bank.
Then I make stereo tracks of these different versions of the drum part and send it to you. You choose one of them, and tell me which one, or make your own adjustments. In this case, I'm finalizing the track according to your wishes
Having finished the work, I create and send you individual tracks
of bass drum, snare drum, tom-toms, floor toms, hi-hat, ride cymbal, room, ambiance and overhead mics, as well as a midi track.
This completes my part of the work, the rest is up to you and your sound producer. You can use my tracking without changes, you can modify it to your liking, or you can use it together with midi part and your own samples.
