Hello! My name is Christiano Galvão. I’m a professional touring and session drummer from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with 30 + years of experience. I’ve been playing and recording with major Brazilian artists such as Simone, Ivan Lins, Zélia Duncan, Jorge Vercilo, among many others. My drumming can be heard in many radio hits in Brazil since early 2000s. Some of my recording credits includes albums that received gold and platinum certificates in Brazil. I released in 2006 a Brazilian jazz album called 1+1 Alexandre Cavallo & Christiano Galvão. I’m the author of two instructional drum books: Creative Brazilian Drumming (2010), published by Hal Leonard, and Brazilian Grooves Play-Along (2018). As solo artist I performed in the US at the international percussion convention PASIC 2017. I studied at the Drummers Collective in NY between 1994 and 1995. I hold a Master degree in Music Education (UNIRIO, 2015), and a Doctor degree in Music Performance (UNICAMP, 2022). I’m endorsed by Zildjian cymbals and Vic Firth sticks.

I’m best known as a very versatile drummer with a solid and creative groove that deliver a great drum set sound. I’m very comfortable in many genres including Pop-Rock, Brazilian music, Brazilian Jazz, Latin, and Singer-Songwriter.

It’ll be a pleasure to collaborate in your music! Just send me a file (with and without demo drums) with basic information (tempo, genre, music references), and any charts that you might have. As soon as I receive your material, I’ll record my drums in 2-3 days, providing special live drum tracks that will enrich your project.

I record in Pro Tools in my home studio in Rio (16bit/44.1KHz or 24bit/48KHz). My standard set up includes 8 tracks: bass drum, snare top, snare bottom, hi-hat, tom, floor, over heads 1 and 2.

Upon approval, I’ll send you 8 raw, consolidated WAVE files of the drum tracks. If you prefer, I can send two different takes of the song so you can edit and mix as you wish. I also offer 2 revisions for you.

-Top quality drum sets: 2015 Yamaha PHX (22, 10, 12, 14, 16), and 1994 Yamaha Maple Custom kit (22,8,10,12,14,16).
-7 different sizes and models of snares drums (Gretsch, Pearl, Yamaha, Tama, Odery).
