“Home Again” – Kevin Ambrogi Quartet

Home Again is a deeply personal modern jazz album inspired by places I’ve traveled, the people who left a mark, and the inner landscapes shaped by those moments. It’s a return—not to a location, but to a sense of grounding, musical honesty, and emotional truth.

This album features a blend of composed material and open improvisation, with strong melodic storytelling, harmonic richness, and rhythmic interaction at its core. As a bassist, I focused on anchoring the music while allowing space for real-time dialogue with the band.

Each piece reflects a phase of movement—some gentle, some dissonant, all intentional. We recorded the album live in the studio, embracing dynamics, imperfections, and spontaneity as part of the music’s life force.

The quartet includes piano, drums, saxophone, and double bass, with each musician contributing their own voice to the overall arc of the record. The interplay, restraint, and moments of unexpected tension-release all mirror the emotional themes of the project.

Home Again is for listeners who lean in—who love storytelling through sound and who find meaning in movement, memory, and return.
