Akos Forgacs is an electric bassist recognized for his versatility and technical proficiency across multiple styles. A Berklee College of Music graduate, he has built an impressive career performing with internationally acclaimed artists in a wide range of genres.

Over the years, Akos has toured across North America and Europe, working with Grammy Hall of Fame and Songwriter Hall of Fame inductee James JT Taylor and Canadian producer Tennyson. He has also performed alongside Grammy-nominated saxophonist Miguel Zenón as the bassist of Slavo Rican Assembly. His collaborations extend to renowned musicians such as Jojo Mayer, Dave Fiuczynski, and Paul Simon’s longtime keyboardist, Alain Mallet. His career has taken him to major festivals and concert tours worldwide, including performances in China as a core member of SunBeatzz.

Currently, Akos is working with Curtis, one of Hungary’s top artists, performing at the biggest festivals in Hungary and surrounding countries.

Beyond the stage, Ákos is a sought-after educator, having led masterclasses at prestigious jazz festivals, performing arts high schools, and co-leading a seminar with Jojo Mayer and Dave Fiuczynski. He is also a Grammy voting member and an endorsed artist with Fodera Guitars and Pitbull Strings.

As both a bandleader and sideman, Akos maintains a busy performance schedule, playing with top-tier international artists on some of the world’s biggest stages. Whether leading a band or anchoring the rhythm section, he brings deep musicality and an expressive voice to every project he is part of.
