I started out on upright bass when I was 11 and still have the same upright bass I purchased, sanded, and restored, with some help of the local luthier. I love rhythm, and I love all styles, especially music that relies on good bass! If it doesn’t make you want to groove, it’s not quite there, it’s all about good feel. Shortly after starting upright bass lessons from my older brother, joining orchestra, I also acquired a bass guitar and started playing in a GarageBand with another sibling and neighbor friends. I was the bassist, and I loved it! I would later learn to slap, then pull the frets out and do some Fretless playing, listening to all styles from jazz to merengue, country, folk, and Hindustani classical music. With a Masters degree in music FSU and attended NEC I got to study with many musical greats, as well as some of my lifelong musical heroes.
Other hobbies include: Electronic synths and composing, playing piano, playing upright bass in jazz gigs in town, cooking, making homemade soap, yogi.
