El Caballero percussionist Ruben de Ruiter played in recent years with well-known and unknown artists and with bands and orchestras at festivals and venues in the Netherlands and abroad. He also played in musical and theater productions, in television and radio programs and in his home studio and other sound studios.

In 2020 Ruben played the percussion parts on the short movie 'New York 2020' (find it on Vimeo!) with John Patitucci, Tom Beek, Mark Schenk and Frits de Beer.

Ruben is currently playing at the nine-person afrobeat powerhouse Zitakula from Amsterdam. A new album will be released shortly, after which they will again provide the festivals with their steaming energy.

Recently Ruben gave his unmistakable percussion sound to new work by saxophonist, composer, arranger, band leader and Edison audience prize winner 2019 Efraim Trujillo.

At Disney's The Lion King, percussion is elemental. At the Circustheater in Scheveningen, Ruben supported this attraction until the end of July 2019.
