I play the kind of riffs that you air guitar to when no one is watching. I am a multigenre capable session guitarist mainly specializing in progressive metal, death metal and thrash metal. I am currently 20 years in to an endless journey with the mystical six string creature we know as the Guitar, and I'd be happy to share my experience with you.
Though I'm not originally from the states, I've spent practically my whole life right here in Nashville, TN. If there was one thing I'd like to share with you that I've learned in my 23 years of living in Music City, it's this:
Down here in Nashville, we don't just play our guitars. We tell stories with them.
You see, I have always had one goal in mind since the day my dad first introduced me to the world of guitar all those years ago. That goal is to tell a story. Whether that story be a mythical tale of wizards and dragons, or interdimensional beings ripping apart the very fabric of our reality, once I plug that cable in to the input jack of my six string spell caster is when the first page of the book is opened.
While I mainly specialize in death metal and progressive metal, my style varies widely. I've heard my style of playing described as "abstract" or as "if Les Claypool and Dimebag Darrell had a baby". Yes someone actually said that to me once. Regardless of all that, I'd like to say one more thing. You give me the opportunity to tell a story on one of your tracks, and it will be a epic tale passed down generations and generations to come.
