I currently have 25 years experience in performing and recording, my main instrument being guitar, but I have also performed keyboards and synth on various recordings.
The band that I’m mainly associated with is Godsticks who are a progressive metal band from South Wales.
In 2017 Godsticks signed a recording contract with Kscope records, who are associated with artists such as Tesseract, Steven Wilson, Porcupine Tree plus many more.
Through Kscope we have released three studio albums working with producer James Loughrey who has been credited for his work with artists such as Skindred, The Manic Street Preachers and Def Leppard. It was working with James that helped me to gain the knowledge and experience in recording at an industry level. For the first two albums we went into Mono Valley Studios to record and for the third album we recorded at the prestigious Rockfield Studios.
It was also with Godsticks that I was given the opportunity to tour around Europe supporting bands such as The Aristocrats who feature musicians Guthrie Govan, Bryan Beller and Marco Minnemann plus fellow Kscope artist, The Pineapple Thief who feature world class drummer Gavin Harrison. Performing with these artists helped me to develop my own skills for live performance.
Other projects and collaborations include a side project entitled The New Titans. This was an avenue to write and record music with a range of musicians that included drummer Gareth Dylan Smith who is an American drummer, writer and professor at Boston University. This project was a more Jazz/Fusion genre and we recorded both original material as well as some challenging covers of artists like Chick Corea, Herbie Handcock and Cody Fry.
I have also begun working on my own material in the hope to release a solo album sometime in the near future.
I have also done some remote recording sessions for various projects including American Prog band ‘Turning Virtue’ produced by Tim Palmer and more notably for English songwriter, musician, record producer Billy Reeves who was the man that formed the London based indie-band The Audience, featuring Sophie Ellis-Bextor on vocals.
