Graduating the GIT program at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, CA is merely scratching the surface of the experience, passion and lifelong dedication to the guitar and music for Ian. Through the years he has worked for one of the largest record companies in the world as well as with some of Nashville’s top producers, studio engineers and session players.

Working at Warner Bros. Records gave Ian insight and the unique experience of a major label during the careers and career development of artist such as Faith Hill, Keith Urban, Travis Tritt, Randy Travis, Little Texas, Jeff Foxworthy and Dwight Yoakam.

As a guitar player Ian has performed nationally as well as in the UK and has also been considered for guitar positions by several major artists including former Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne,The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lita Ford, Slaughter and The Bullet Boys.

​Ian also owns a home studio and production company where he produces indie records and works on custom projects from singer songwriter demos to full band productions. He also worked as an assistant engineer at Seismic Sound in the post production mixing for national broadcast and dvd releases with clients such as CMA Country Music Fest and Country Crossroads including most of Nashville’s top recording artists as well as pop and rock music icons Barry Manilow and Heart.

As an instructor, Ian started giving guitar lessons just after high school in Huntsville, AL and again after college in Los Angeles, CA. 2015 marks the beginning of the 8th year as an instructor at Gene Ford Music where Ian dedicates himself to the advancement of students, sharing his knowledge and passion in the pursuit of their individual goals.

In addition, Ian currently performs with several bands including a Rolling Stones Tribute band (Jaggered Edge), a corporate wedding band (The Ties) and a retro blues duet as well as backing up several singer songwriters in the Nashville area.
