My career can be encapsulated in the impeccable wisdom of my late music instructor Ken Moses “LEARN to live, LIVE to learn.” I live by a very simple idiom that is summed up as follows: Make GREAT art and don’t be a jerk. This is advice I carry with me every day; my focus is on creating the best possible environment for artists to create great art both on the stage and in the studio. I believe technology should support this, not hinder it. In order to facilitate this I work very hard to be the master of my craft in addition to being kind, thoughtful, and attentive to the needs of the musicians I’m supporting. As a mix engineer I feel I’m a steward of the art being created on-stage or in the studio and strive to stay out of the way of the music. My goal is to empower both my clients and teammates to create the greatest art possible in a joyful and fulfilling environment.

This is an incredible time in the history of the music business with new opportunities and technology coming into existence daily. In addition to my broad skills as an audio engineer, my extensive experience in the IT field prior to coming into the production business gives me an expanded skill set that is very useful during the rapid emergence of network and IP driven AVL systems.

I started this fantastic journey into the audio business as a classical pianist and composer. I spent the first decade of my career working as a network system design and integration specialist. During this time I continued my education and practice in music, live sound, and recording. This led me to leave the IT field in 2009 to pursue a full time career in producing, engineering, and touring.
