Youdlyn Moreau is an R&B Musician from East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Moreau, also known as Lynda Starr, creates and performs emotionally driven music to connect with audiences. As a classically trained vocalist and songwriter, she is knowledgeable in harmonization, vocal arrangements, music theory/composition, and storytelling through her songs. Moreau began singing at the tender age of 3, and knew in her heart that music was her ultimate passion. She began writing songs at 8 years old and has been honing her craft ever since.
Lynda Starr has performed at numerous venues across New York City including the legendary SOB’S (Sounds of Brazil). Lynda is one of the Top 3 winners of Digital Girl Inc.’s Voices of Brooklyn 2018 competition. She is also an alumna of the Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network Academy (WEEN) 2014, a 4-week crash course in the entertainment industry where she acquired necessary skills to succeed including personal branding/self-esteem, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy.
After graduating college in 2013, Starr hit the ground running by performing at open mic events across New York City including the Underground Concert Series, The Brooklyn Cypher, and Mike Geffner's Open Mic at Funkadelic Studios. Ms. Starr was also one of the talented songwriters in iStandard's iWrite Songwriting Showcase at Katra Lounge in 2015.
Along with music, Lynda Starr has ventures in theater as she was cast in the groundbreaking stage production, SOMEDAY: A Cyrus Aaron Exhibit, a play examining the life and identity of a Black man in America.
Her motto is, “Music is an expression of life” and she is determined to empower, educate, heal and inspire her community and the world through music.
