Mario Sangermano is a fretted/fretless, 4 and 5 string electric bassist who grew up in Chicago, IL. He began studying music theory and Solfeggio at age 9 with his maternal grandfather, who was a professional Violinist in Europe.
Mario started on the Drums and by age 12 he switched to Guitar for 3 months and then began playing electric bass in local neighborhood bands.
He continued playing bass through high school, playing in various rock, jazz, and fusion bands. By age 18 he began playing Upright Bass and taking classical lessons with Warren Benfield, who was the Principle Bassist for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at the time.
Mario enrolled in the Jazz and Commercial music program at the "American Conservatory of Music", in Chicago, playing in the schools Big Band and the Jack Mouse Quintet. This led to many performing opportunities to excel and play for more serious music situations.
By age 21, Mario moved to Las Angeles California and played in various bands doing a variety of gigs. In 1994, he relocated to Nashville, Tn., where he still resides, playing Bass for various artists and sessions. Mario is also a solo Artist.
