Hi I'm Matt. TLDR; I'm a tech guy who used to gig in rock bands on weekends and started off with digital recording and production circa 2005ish. I help others now with donated or extremely affordable mixing, production, and guitar session work. My work appears in multiple streaming services and multiple songs - too many for me to count at this point. Why work so cheap ? It's not work for me. I have two decades in a successful (and stressful!) software career; this is my fun time for when I'm idle and feeling creative and the weather is too gross to be at the sailboat or outdoors in nature.

I specialize in upcoming amateurs and enthusiasts, and am one of the few people who relish tedious manual editing, correcting pitch, timing and other issues via manual "surgery". I have done restoration work. I work very collaboratively and will suggest enhancements as I hear them, and I am honest - if I need new tracks laid I will tell you so.

I have mixed hip hop top lines, full rock bands, electronic and more, and as a musician myself I have a special place in my heart for live indy/alt bands. My personal musical upbringing is incredibly vast, raised in a household that listened to everything from classical, hot jazz, swing, American standards, to classic rock, metal, punk, folks and more.

I mix on a couple thousand dollars worth of equipment, including Universal Audio, Yamaha, Sennheiser, and more. I use multiple DAWs and plugins from Izotope, Melodyne and more. I can't stand Protools nor Avid, sorry. I do have some basic restoration software to help revitalize extremely old or damaged recordings; in this case we will need to carefully set expectations.

I have before-and-after samples I can share of the artists own mix versus mine, and would be more than happy to discuss what you're looking for with you and help decide if I'm a good match for you. If you're an enthusiastic up and coming amateur like myself, I'm probably going to thrill you. I typically don't ask for payment until I'm done.
