Nathan Russell has been recording, performing and teaching drums and percussion professionally for over 30 years. After attaining a degree in music from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 2000, Nathan spent time in Nashville working at the historic Woodland Studios, toured the U.S. with the hard rock band The Sound and the Fury and internationally with blues band Scuttlebuttin', he's lived abroad in Honduras studying marimba and hand percussion and now finds himself back in the US with a recording/ music education studio of his own, Portage Soundworks.

Nathan currently records for international music publishing company, Hal Leonard, has done work for Wave Machine Labs and their software "Drumagog" and has recording credits with alt country rocker Ryan Adams, Slothtrop Records, The Sound and the Fury, Heather Eatman, Madison Malone, Shawndell Marks and many more.

Nathan has also worked on the other side of the glass and has done audio production on independent film and has been nominated for and won numerous Tommy/ Jerry Awards for his work in live theater sound design.
