I'm a professional drummer born and raised in Santiago, Chile now based in Los Angeles, CA. I grew up with a recording studio at home since my mother is a sound engineer so I would spend most days recording drums, full bands and helping my mother run our studio. I came to the U.S. to study drums at the prestigious Boston Music School Berklee College of Music where I graduated Cum Laude in Drum Performance. After I graduated I spent almost 4 years living in New York City, performing, touring and recording with one of the best and top musicians in the world. I did realized there that I was missing my passion, which was to record music & drums full time instead of performing music full time. So I moved to Los Angeles, CA and I started setting up my recording studio. I now have a wide collection of drums and cymbals I've acquired over the years to have as many options as I can to fulfill the needs of your song.
The first thing I do when I receive a song, is to listen and hear what would be the best approach for it. I look for the perfect drums and cymbals, microphone set ups and I start tuning drums and moving microphones until it sounds perfect to me. Then I focus on the performance and one I have a take I like, I'll send it as a first take so then we can discuss and see what you like or what we need to change to get closer to what the song needs.
