Nathan Phyerstone is a professional bassist who started his musical studies at age 6 at the E.L Cole School of Music in Memphis, TN. learning piano and music theory. For many years he played organ in many local Memphis bands. He re-directed his focus to the guitar after receiving a Sears Silvertone as a gift that he re-constructed to a lefty and used it in his high school jazz band where he switched from guitar to drums in the marching band. He also Sang baritone in his high school glee club. After being accepted into the University of Memphis as a Music/Business management major he studied and performed upright fretless in the jazz band there.
He began playing bass professionally after joining Pathfinder Recording Artist (L.I.F.E.), a ten pieces R&B Funk Band. That gig landed him in Japan and many popular venues in the U.S. on tour. While with (Love Is For Everyone) He developed skills as an audio Engineer using that talent as a (Front of House) Sound mixer for live concerts and as a Broadcast Audio Engineer for radio and TV. He has also worked as a Radio Personality for WXSS, WLOK and DELTA FORCE II and also owned "The Mobile DJ referral service".
He is current owner/operator of Stone-Phyer Entertainment. A record label and publishing company.
For many years Nathan played concerts and tours with several musical acts in and around Memphis and the United States. Later, he co-founded "SherPhyer" with ex-Bar-Kay member Sherman Guy. Nathan has published several recordings that he produced, wrote and performed playing all the instruments on each track. These tracks are available on most music sites worldwide to sample and download. Nathan is a southpaw and plays only lefthanded basses including a 5 string Carvin LB-75, 8 string Galveston, 5 string fretless Maestro, a vintage 1974 left handed Rickenbacker and an Alembic Epic 5 string lefty and more...
Most recently, Nathan has preformed with blues legend "DeNise LaSalle", Ecko Recording artist "Sweet Angel", UROC Jazz & Soul Artist "Redd Velvet" and served as Band Director for Southern Soul Blues Artist "Carl Sims".
