Stephanie is a classically trained singer with a bachelor's degree in vocal performance, a 3-octave range, and over 30 years of performing experience. Raised by her music teacher mother who sang in barbershop choruses and quartets, she developed a keen ear for intricate harmonies from an early age. She also had a passion for musical theatre and performed in amateur productions throughout her teens. After graduating from college, she moved to New York City and studied jazz singing under Marion Cowings, while performing as a lead and backing vocalist in several bands and vocal groups in New York and Connecticut.
In 2015 she moved to London and began performing regularly for audiences of 200-300 as a lead singer for Sunday Assembly London. Later that year she became the lead singer of the London-based wiki-rock band Tiger Moth. Tiger Moth have played at Live Expressions Festival, Magical Festival, and will play at Elderflower Fields this summer. Their second album, "Too Deep For Radio" was released in 2021.
Stephanie's vocal style is gutsy and passionate, but with the flexibility to be soft and sensual. She has often been compared to Kate Bush for her vocal power and versatility, but could slip just as comfortably into the breathy, understated tones of Suzanne Vega. She can read sheet music or learn by ear, and enjoys composing harmonies and countermelodies.
