J.P. Tha Pompafillian is an American rapper from Pompano Beach, Florida. Born and raised in 1987 in a project community formerly known as The Villa, J.P. comes from a Christian family of 6 siblings and his two parents. Tha Pompafillian's greatest inspiration is his older brother, Ezekiel TheGroomer, who himself is an artist and master barber( you can hear their first and only song together that was 20 years in the making only on YouTube, called "REPRESENT" https://youtu.be/bFek-s2e4CU ) introduced him to hip hop by way of Bone Thugs N Harmony and Tupac Shakur in the early 90's. J.P. began writing poetry at an early age but wrote his first song at the tender age of 11. Although not the best at arranging his thoughts in the beginning, J.P. found the hook+vere+hook+/-bridge formula to be intriguing.
J.P.,(at this stage known as J.P-NO) created a small buzz in Atlanta as a teenager under the production and guidance of James Lewis. With Lewis, J.P. would create and perform such songs as "Attention", "A Song For Pompano", and "Gotta Go". J.P., again through Lewis, would also meet a rap duo named "The Professionals" and land a feature verse on one of their hottest records "I Remember When". In 2011, J.P. enlisted in the United States Army and would serve for 3 years, but also would endure a 3 year hiatus from making music.
J.P. would eventually return to music in 2017 and unload on the world all of the music that would lay dormant in his soul and in his mind. In returning to hip hop, J.P. would make the decision to avoid using the "N" word and keep the majority of his music clean. Tha Pompafillian would go on to release albums like "520" in 2019 and "WAR READY" in 2020 and singles such as "U Know What To Do" and "Getaway Part II". In 2019, J.P. would team up with his first cousin, Jamar "J.Stubbs" Stubbs and create what would eventually be a Christian rap group CS TRIBE 319. As CS TRIBE 319, these two would create beautiful heart wrenching music that pulls at the heart but avoids Christian condemnation and express understanding of the human trials and challenges with sin, and give love and support through song to those who may need it and feel far away from God. With albums like "REBORN" and "END TIMES", CS TRIBE 319 looks to be the stand out in Christian Hip Hop and deliver God truthfully and fully to the people who may or may not know Him.
