Vishekh Ramdaas is best known for being behind the production and songwriting as well as being one half of critically acclaimed Indie Pop Duo - Ramdaz
Signed as a songwriter/Producer/Engineer/artist to South Africa's leading Independent record label - Just Music (SA home to artists like Adele, Bon Iver, Radio Head, the xx and many more international heavy weights)
With over 6 years of experience in the music industry - Songwriting/Producing/engineering (which by looking at his age being just 23 years old becomes more significant) Vishekh has already worked with, co-produced, engineered for and with SAMA nominated and SAMA winning producers/artists - who has been a mentor of sorts to him thus far.
When penning his first record deal as an artist in 2016, signed while their roster was full and being hand picked as a songwriter, producer, as well as artist (as part of duo - Ramdaz) by the label manager (the man behind acts like Nakhane, Matthew Mole, Bianca Blanc and so many more.)
His international sounding productions combines effortlessly with anthemic songwriting with melody and hooks that get stuck in your head for days, best compared as a South African Ryan Tedder by not only his production and writing versatility but his ability to capture the essence of whoever’s in the room with him in his writing.
In terms of genre definition Vishekh is best known as a pop writer. But that does range from extremely pop stuff like Taylor Swift to acoustic stuff like Ed Sheeran’s earlier work to even pop rock stuff like Onerepublic and Maroon 5 and R&B stuff like The Weeknd. He is extremely versatile in his writing.
“Just as our species evolves you have to grow, adapt and evolve with it. One of my signatures as a songwriter is that it’s all about melody, and anthemic hooks as crowds definitely respond more to big anthemic choruses.”
