Zé is the founder of the Afrobeat Afrobeat Orchestra, the first afrobeat band in Brazil, and also the band Carapaus Afrobeat, born in Lisbon.
He played with Tony Allen and produced with him the single "Meus Filhos", also with the participation of BNegão, lead singer of Planet Hemp, one of the most important rock bands in Brazil.
