At age 22, Ad Van Winkle, is a professional musician and filmmaker based in Palm Desert, CA. Since 2013, he has been a founding member, lead singer, song-writer, and multi-instrumentalist for YIP YOPS, an alternative band that has achieved success playing west coast venues and festivals including Coachella in 2017. After completing a 13-city U.S. tour with KONGOS and FITNESS in 2019, Ad wrote the screenplay for his directorial debut, “A Night at the Shack”, based on inspiration from 80’s cult classic, Rocky Horror Picture Show. The film won Best Suspense Film in the 2021 Aquarius Film Festival. Also in 2021, he co-wrote the jingle and starred in the 7-Eleven “Take It To Eleven” marketing campaign and scored audio saga, “Bad Hands”, which has been accepted into the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival. Ad plans to continue developing his talent in all aspects of the combined musical and visual art process to create projects that are undeniably him.
