My name is Andy Basiola, I'm an italian guitarist currently based in London, UK. I started playing guitar at the age of
12 growing up listening to artists such as Randy Rhoads, Jimi Hendrix, Gary Moore, Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, etc...
In 2009 I moved to London, after winning a scolarship to study at BIMM, one of Europe’s leading music colleges, where I graduated in 2010.
Over the years I have played and toured Europe with a number of different bands and played some of London’s iconic venues, such as: 02 Shepherds Bush Empire, 02 Islington, 100 Club , Beck Theatre, Barfly, Underworld, etc..
In London, I have been writing and recording music with rock bands Kill for Eden and Future Shock, working with top producers such as Phil Kinman (Doogie White, Tank, Driven), and Ade Emsley (Iron Maiden, Steve Harris, Voodoo Six).
In 2012 I was voted Best Individual Performer, by Playmusic Magazine and I received a guitar endorsement deal with Fret King Guitars.
In 2015 I joined “the Toxic Twins”: Europe’s best Aerosmith tribute
band as lead guitarist.
In the same year I have also been selected to take part in the "Vivaldi
Metal Project" album, a project involving musicians from all over the world including Rick Wakeman (Yes), Mark Boals, Michael Lepond (Symphony x), Atma Anur and many more. http://www.vivaldimetalproject.com/
I am also an experienced guitar teacher I teach regularly in some of London’s best music schools and in my own studio.
On January 19th 2018 I have released my debut solo EP titled "Behind The Illusion" which features special guests and artists from the London music scene I had the pleasure of working with. The album was released via CdBaby and it's now available to buy or stream on all major online music stores.
