After graduating with a B.A. in Music (NPU), Forrest released his calling card folk-soul album "Back to Bodhi", of which his lead single "Grown Child" put him on the national map with premieres from AfroPunk (Brooklyn) and RAGE (Australia). After returning to his home town he was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts Grant in 2017, again in 2019, and in 2020 was a John Lennon Songwriting Competition Winner (R&B) for his song "One By One".
With over 50 publications as a songwriter / producer / guitarist , his style evolves based on life experiences, but all the while there remains a thread of soul in his musical voice, no matter the vast genres he poetically melds together."
