Kasey is Gifted: She started playing the viola in middle school. Within her first four years of playing the Viola, she was accepted into numerous state and regional orchestras.
After a year of playing in the Greensboro Youth Symphony, she auditioned at the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston Salem, NC.
Kasey is Brave: Kasey auditioned for and was accepted into the North Carolina School of the Arts at the age of 15. After consultation with her family, and with their blessings, she moved away from home, and familiar surroundings, to live on the campus. She immersed herself in her music and began viola studies with world renowned Ulrich Eichenauer. The Journey Continues: Two years into the School of the Arts, and after the departure of her initial instructor, she began to study with Sheila Brown.
