Italian musician, Marco Taraddei was born in Bergamo and started to play bassoon in 2000 with Prof. Giorgio Versiglia at “Istituto Musicale G.Donizetti”, Bergamo (Italy). In 2007 he achieved his Bachelor in Bassoon, with honors. Afterwards, he dedicated to jazz music, his old flame (quoting a famous jazz standard). He is currently one of the few improvisors on bassoon (YTChannel: Marco Taraddei - Bassoon). He played in Italy for Bergamojazz (2009), SienaJazz (where he got a scholarship, 2011), and TorinoJazz (2016), among others. At the same time he kept practicing classical music and working with different italian orchestras, such as Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, “I Pomeriggi Musicali” Milano, Orchestra Regionale della Toscana, Orchestra “A.Toscanini” di Parma, Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice, Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra (China) e Orchestra Sinfonica “G.Verdi” di Milano, among others. In 2009 he performed at Boston University (USA) with Bassoon Ensemble “Quartetto Acero”.
In 2013 he moved to Lübeck (Germany) in order to attend Master in Bassoon at MHL (Musikhochschule Lübeck) with Prof. Pierre Martens. Then he switched to Zürich (Switzerland) and obtained the Performance Master Konzert at ZHdK (Zürcher Hochschule der Kunst) under the guide of Prof. Matthias Racz.
He had concerts in Italy, France, Switzerland, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, England, USA, Azerbaijan, Taiwan, China and India, playing with important musical personalities such as: Oleg Caetani, John Axelrod, Patrick Fournillier, Claus Peter Flor, Valentin Uryupin, Giampaolo Pretto, Alexander Lonqvich, Robert Trevino, Wayne Marshall, Sa Chen, Gabriela Montero, Sergei Babayan, Finghin Collins, Marcos Madrigal, Alessandro Deljavan, Alexander Romanovsky, Kolja Blacher, Anna Tifu, Natasha Korsakova, among others.
He recorded for ECM, Carisch and “Auditorium Parco della Musica" Records, Teriyaki Records, Universal Music.
