Ian Duran, a San Francisco native, had his passion for music production ignited when he taught himself to play guitar when he was 13. Soon after, he began teaching himself about recording techniques and how to incorporate computers into the music making process. This led him to Ex'pression College for Digital Arts where he earned a Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree in Sound Arts with Valedictorian honors.

While studying at Ex'pression, Ian was hired to work on the event staff for Ex'pression Sessions, an Internet concert series. There he was able to work with Foster the People, Edwin McCain, G.Love, and Scars on 45, doing sound for live streaming and recording for future viewing. Ian worked for Ex'pression as a tutor for the entire Sound Arts curriculum, from analog recording to computer music production. He also took advantage of the school's recording facilities to help local vocalist Audio Angel raise $3,500 for her Kickstarter campaign, which was featured on their homepage in an effort to raise money to record at Different Fur Studios.

Before completing his studies, Ian began an internship at San Francisco's Studio Trilogy, a world-class recording facility, during this time he learned from some of the Bay Area's most experienced recording engineers. Also, during this time, Ian worked with the Dancing Cat Productions team where he helped develop various projects which included the recording and mixing of George Winston with his recording engineer, Howard Johnston.

Within 6 months of graduating, Ian had wrked his way into sessions with premeir producers and engineers such as: Narada Michael Walden, Dan the Automator, Jerry Stucker, and Sean Beresford.

Ian continues to work with local musicians, DJs, and producers. Some of these include: B.Lewis, Dan the Automator, DJ Rook, Mad Noise, and Solid Chrome. He is also an active member of the audio community as a member of both the Audio Engineering Society and National Association of Recording Industry Professionals.
