Since earliest childhood when he first began playing the guitar, Francois Pelletier has placed improvisation and composition at the heart of his musical exploration. He studied at CNDF, the University of Laval, University of Montreal and University of Quebec at Montreal, where he was able to focus on classical and jazz styles, while maintaining his interest in pop. During his studies, he also developed a classical/jazz style for solo acoustic guitar, in which you can hear the effect of his musical influences, Don Ross and Sylvain Luc.


In March 2011, Pelletier released Espace-temps, a collection of 11 pieces for solo acoustic guitar, which was followed by the digital release the EP Entre-temps. In March 2013, Pelletier presents l'Antre, a continuation of the guitarist's exploration in the folk-jazz aesthetic, except this time with many exceptional musicians lending their talents to the project. In this album, we hear pieces for solo guitar but several arrangements for small ensembles as well.

In addition to his solo career, Pelletier has been a part of many bands, including Metatuk and Totem Bonhomme. Today, you can hear his guitar stylings as an integral part of zoë & the lost boys and alongside singer/songwriter Catherine Harrison-Boisvert. He has also performed at showcases, most notably for luthiers Ken Franklin and Jef Demers.


Pelletier has created a unique intersection between classical guitar, jazz and folk, which earned him the CNDF prize for classical expression in 2006. His music places emphasis on the acoustic guitar as an instrument that inspires serenity and purity. He offers his listeners a musical landscape that is at once organic, sincere and introspective, soothing to even the most troubled souls.
