About Me:
I was born and raised in Brunswick, GA, a scenic coastal town in Georgia, where my musical path began at a young age, playing in church as many musicians Did and developing my country music acumen! My parents reminisce about my early days in music, remembering me banging on pots and pans, despite no family members having musical inclinations. The funniest thing my dad always said was “I can barely use the radio” My musical influences spanned a wide range of genres, including country, rock, blues, and pop, with notable influences from George Strait, Johnny Cash, Travis Tritt, The Eagles and Journey.
I established myself as a country musician. But, at the same time being a working Drummer! Currently: I’m on the road with Georgia County band South of Athens. I’ve had the honor work with many amazing artists such as:
Will Moseley, Johnny White, Christian Santiago, Adam Crabb and more!
Every day, I wake up with a heart full of gratitude, feeling incredibly blessed to be living my dream of making music. But, of course I have bad days too and it's not always easy. Every time I get on stage, go to a session or teach lessons I do it as it could be my last chance.
“Do it to the best of your ability as it could be the last time”
First off, I have to give thanks to the Lord almighty! I am so beyond blessed and grateful for the support of my family, friends, fellow musicians and mentors who encourage me to believe in my dream and never give up. I wouldn’t be here today without them!
I leave here with this….Living my dream isn’t just about personal fulfillment; it’s about spreading joy and inspiration through others. Knowing that my craft can touch someone and uplift them fills me with a sense of purpose that I wouldn’t trade for anything! - Jackson Gorbutt
