Jeff Przech (“Presh”) has been singing and performing professionally for over twenty years. In that time he’s played close to 2000 shows from Maine to Montana. Przech’s music crosses genres and resists labels, shown very clearly by the sonic variety in his first two releases, 2015’s Sounds Like Fresh and 2018’s Jeff Przech & The Outfit. “I’m a rock guy at heart, but my music has been called a lot of different things by a lot of different people. As for me, I’ve always had one goal when it comes to making music - I just chase the sounds I hear in my head.” His latest release "Helena: The Country Sounds" (October 2023) is yet another example of the chase, with the result being a strong collection of classic, Studio A-sounding country music.
Przech’s songs and style have elicited comparisons to the likes of Gregg Allman, John Mellencamp, Tom Petty, and Chris Stapleton, among others. In 2023 his songwriting has been recognized both regionally and nationally. His song “Maribelle,” from the Outfit record, was chosen for the Essential Western New England Songbook, which the curators call a “listenable juried anthology of 200 of the best songs ever written by artists who’ve lived in Western New England and whose careers have a significant connection to the area. A virtual “Hall of Fame” of original songs.” Meanwhile, “Eden,” from the Sounds Like Fresh record, was featured this season on the ABC drama Big Sky.
