A Nashville transplant, Kyle McAllister was born and raised in Sarasota, Florida. His stylings are heavily influenced from blues and rock legends like Page, Hendrix, and Mayer, up-and-comers like Marcus King and current studio heavy-hitters such as Tom Bukovac. As a performer, session guitarist, and songwriter McAllister’s journey has taken him around the industry, including stints in various music venue production and operation roles.
From 2016 to 2020 McAllister focused his efforts into Nashville’s music community, founding independent rock band Ordinary Madmen, and playing with locals such as Zuma and the Rangos. He sits in as frequently as invited by other artists, and even began a recurring improv-based jam night as a safe space for creatives and musicians to enjoy playing in a lower-pressure environment.
McAllister has shared stages with notable names such as Brian Johnson (AC/DC), Jay Weinberg (Slipknot), and Josh Smith (Halestorm).
It didn’t take long for him to try his hand in freelance session work, recording in studios around Nashville including SAE, and renowned Ocean Way Studios.
During the 2020 lockdowns McAllister used his free time to venture into the world of audio engineering he states partially to communicate more effectively with clients and engineers, as a way of achieving a better result when recording guitars. He’s now built an essentials-only home studio in order to freely track guitars for clients all over the world, as well as self-recording and releasing singles like ‘Sliced Bread’ and ‘Bakin’ Cookies’.
He has lent his guitar-playing hands to artists in such countries as, Belgium, France, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Australia.
