I’m Mathew, a multi-instrumentalist and producer located in Portland, OR.

I have been drawn to things with strings for the majority of my life. After studying film scoring at Berklee College of Music and working for a number of years in the film music industry I shifted my focus back to recording and performing. As soon as I found my footing with pedal steel I knew that this instrument is an extension of me. Nothing brings me greater joy than collaborating and contributing behind the pedal steel, especially in the context of recording. My background in film scoring lends itself well to the atmospheric and lyrical nature of the pedal steel.

While pedal steel is my primary focus I am also proficient with mandolin, dobro, guitar and bass. I would love nothing more than to contribute to your project!
