Chiu Yuen Kei (Rachel) graduated with Master of Arts in Music Education and Bachelor of Education (Honours)- Music, in Hong Kong Institute of Education where she majored in harp. She has been studying harp with Miss Sze Ying Lam, Barbara in Music Office since 11. She was awarded Licentiate of Trinity College London (LTCL) in Harp Recital and Associate Diploma (ATCL) in Harp Recital with distinction. Also, she has obtained Associated Board of Royal School Grade 8 in Harp, Music Theory and Piano.



Rachel was a harp player for Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra from 2008 to 2014 and awarded outstanding member. Rachel performs frequently with various orchestras such as Birmingham Symphonic Winds(U.K), Hong Kong Wind Philharmonia and Hong Kong Youth Symphonic Band. During her study in HKIEd, she was a harp player for HKIEd Symphonic Band, Orchestra, Singers, Chorus, Pit Orchestra (CCA Musical)etc., and cello player in Chinese Orchestra and Revolutionary Orchestra.



Rachel is enthusiastic about sharing her music. She was invited to perform in a number of music events, such as Hong Kong harp festival, Lang Lang's Charity Concert for UNICEF, HKYSO annual concert, St John's Cathedral -Evening Concert, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Music Education Forum etc. She was selected to join HKYSB 2013 tour (2013 Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival).



In year 2011, Rachel was an exchange student in Music School of Luleå University of Technology in Sweden. She was invited to be a harp player in Luleå University of Technology orchestra productions 2011/12. In the same year, she gave her harp and percussion duo recital at Acusticum in Piteå, Sweden.



A devoted harp teacher, Rachel coaches harp students at the Yip's Children Choral & Performing Arts Centre, secondary schools, primary schools and kindergartens. Her aim is to promote harp music in Hong Kong as well as fostering our next generation in music and related arts form.
