Early Life
Brian Booth was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Monica Harrod and Brian Booth Sr. Brian’s interest art was always prevalent, due to his award from the University of Maryland for “best drawing” at the age of 12. Two years later, Brian moved to Virginia Beach, where he developed a love for producing and rapping. He then formed a rap group called “The Street Team”, wherein he created the instrumentals, and his friends (Awax, Dallis, T. Butts & Don Rashawn) rapped. This new group began to travel and perform gaining plenty of experience in the Hampton Roads area. At the age of 17, Booth signed to the Hood Platinum Record label. Brian preceded to study the art of Audio engineering under Double XL and CEO P. These individuals taught Brian the tools of the Music Business. Quickly learning the necessities of a Record Label, Brian opened his first called “Major Movement”. The artists from the rap group” The Street Team”, (Awax, Dallis, T. Butts & Don Rashawn) signed to Brian’s label. Opportunities outside of the studio were abundant, while they opened shows for Jim Jones, Big Country Kane, Mulage, OJ Da Juiceman, The Afram Festival, and The Warp Tour. Shortly after their touring ended, Booth shut down the “Major Movement” record label. Over a five-year span, Brian recorded in-home to increase clientele. He then opened a studio in Virginia Beach, VA called “Black Vinyl Recordings”, where his Audio Engineering career began to soar. Brian worked with artists such as Gucci Mane, Rick Ross, Free Way, Young Crazy, Lil Boosie, Moneybagg Yo, Blu, Willtharapper, Earthgang, J.I.D., Levi Carter, Bizarre (from D-12), and Bubba Sparks. While juggling his busy schedule, he landed an Audio Engineering job at Thomas Crown Recording Studio owned by Timbaland. At the age of 25, Brian began rapping again, and started a rap group called “World Order”. They opened for prime artists such as Trae da Truth, Little Debbie, Stylez P, Slaughter House, Ginuwine, King Los, Twista,
Mystical, Scarface, Kirko Bangz, Stitches and Slim Jesus.
Goals
Brian’s primary goal for the community is to guide new, struggling artists through the tough music industry. He would also like to reach the multi-billion- dollar range within his record label, through his numerous business ventures.
Present Life
Brian currently owns “Prime Records Inc.”
