Vladimir Samardžić is a Serbian bass guitar player, composer, music instructor and columnist. His professionalism, impressive playing technique and mastery of numerous music genres made him one of the greatest and most versatile bass players in Serbia and ex Yugoslavia. He has cooperated with many orchestras, famous musicians and vocalists from Serbia and beyond, as well as with world-known jazz and 'world music' names such as Luis Bonilla, Karlheinz Miklin, John Riley, Marko Djordjević, Bojan Zulfikarpashić, Thana Alexa, Felipe Salles, Mokhtar Samba, Teodosi Spasov, Amira Medunjanin, Vasil Hadžimanov, Nenad Gajin and Slobodan Trkulja.
As a Berklee College of Music scholarship holder in Boston (1997-1999) and the winner of two student awards, he graduated Summa Cum Laude.
In 2010 he released the album 'The Bridge' with his jazz quintet Pannonia Project, where he presented himself for the first time as a composer and music arranger.
Mr. Samardžić used to be a bass player of the famous rock band Smak (1995-1997, CD "Bioskop Fox" 1995) and also a member of the Balkan jazz fusion Vasil Hadžimanov Band for many years (2000-2010, four CD releases). He performed with Vasil Hadžimanov Band in the region and in Europe, as well as at the World Expo fair in Nagoya, Japan (2005). While working with the band Balkanopolis (2002-2005) he performed in numerous European world-music festivals. In the period between 2002 and 2010 he was the member of Vlado Georgiev's band, a famous singer and songwriter. Since 2007 he has been cooperating with the singer Željko Samardžić as well, performing throughout America, Canada and Australia. Vladimir used to be also a member of croatian jazz electric quartet Chewbakka 4.
He held his performances many times in all big concert halls throughout Serbia and in the region, as well as on big stages under the open sky in front of more than 20,000 people.
He has also been active as a bass guitar instructor for many years, as a 'Bass Workshop' lecturer as well as music mentor in international music jazz seminars (Pannonian Bridge, Novi Sad 2007-2008; Jazz ExTempore, Opatija 2006, 2012; Int. Summer Jazz School, Grožnjan 2018-2019). Vladimir Samardžić is an official promoter of national brands such as Tomisic Guitars i Pedalrail but also of a famous Italian company Mark Bass.
