A Live String Section for Your Song for $160

I can compose, arrange and record your string section for you! Without having to write sheet music. I can even write a live string section break for you in the style of your song! I usually get info on where there needs to be a string section and an idea of what it should sound like. That’s all I really need, I’ll take care of the rest!

For these recordings I use a violin, a viola and instead of a cello or double bass, a chin cello or octave viola.

The Chin Cello or Octave Viola is a viola modified to be able to handle so called octave strings. This means it is a viola in the same range as a cello, giving you the possibility to play those low notes as a violist. The low notes have a slightly different tone and frequency to them which makes them absolutely perfect for mixing with rock, metal, film music, electronic music and other non-classical genres because they don’t clash with guitar, bass and other tracks like cello’s and double basses do.

In other words. A cello and a double bass are designed to be the body of a piece, not to be added to a rock song. The chin cello or octave viola however, is!

I have a background in composition (Propedeuse Certificate from The Royal Conservatory of the Haque in composition) for film and know my way around arranging for strings. This means I can take care of the whole process of composing, arranging and recording your live string section. Everything in between is possible. Maybe you’d like me to include certain melodies, or have ideas about how the string section should sound.

I’ve worked on music with film makers for years and can handle all kinds of comments on music. Ranging from ‘it should be louder here’ to ‘it should remind me of a chase scene in Arabia’. I've worked on 20+ different films and video games most recently the trailer for Michael Oswald's new production, The Man That Knew Too Much.

I record with an AKG Perception 420 condensor microphone and record in Cubase 8. I'll mix the tracks myself and send the dry tracks (without effects) over as well so you can decide how to go about using these strings in your mix.
